This project included roadway and drainage improvements to meet the access and transportation needs of the West Air Cargo Apron at the New Orleans International Airport. The scope of work included relocation of public and private utilities, installation of reinforced concrete drainage pipe and catch basins, and design of concrete roadway and curbs for three (3) roadways totaling approximately 2,400 linear feet at the airport located south of the General Air Cargo Apron for the New Orleans Aviation Board.
Design Engineering Inc. provided civil, structural, hydraulic, lighting and geotechnical design services directly or through the use of sub-consultants. The work was completed by Design Engineering under a series of Task orders which included the following:
- Topographic Surveying
The client authorized surveying of the proposed air cargo site and existing roadway systems designated for improvement.
- Engineering Reports
a. Initial report to establish basis of design for the air cargo apron and roadway projects.
b. Specific report for site preparation and surcharge.
- Preliminary and Final Design for site preparation and surcharge.
- Preliminary final design and bidding for the Lafon Air Park Roadway project.
