Design Engineering, Inc. (DEI) acknowledges Madalyn Williams for her active involvement in Leadership Jefferson’s Class of 2024 Community & Civic Engagement session.

Madalyn began her day with insights from distinguished speakers like Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng and Councilmen At-Large Scott Walker and Ricky Templet, providing valuable perspectives on governance, administration, and civic engagement. Mayor Belinda Constant’s tour of Gretna added a practical dimension to local understanding.

Later, Madalyn and her peers participated in a community engagement panel featuring leaders from notable non-profit organizations, including Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana, United Way of Southeast Louisiana, the Jefferson Community Foundation, and New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity. This session provided insights into their impactful work and the importance of community involvement.

The day concluded with an engaging group activity, as Madalyn and classmates took on decision-making roles in a simulated city council. This hands-on exercise allowed them to navigate the challenges associated with civic leadership.
