Awards Projects

Design Engineering Inc. is thrilled to announce that our 822 Howard project has received the Award of Excellence in Historic Preservation from the La Landmarks Society. This project was a complete renovation and restoration of a 1920s warehouse in the heart of the Warehouse District in New Orleans.

Our team at Design Engineering Inc. was tasked with converting the warehouse into a residential apartment building while maintaining its historical significance. We were able to successfully renovate the interior of the building, strengthen the foundation, replace windows, HVAC systems, and all other features. We also added an additional story to create a penthouse suite atop the existing structure.

One of the biggest challenges of this project was to maintain the historical façade and silhouette of the building while making the necessary renovations. Our team was able to rise to the challenge and successfully complete the project while preserving the building’s historic charm.

We are honored to receive the Award of Excellence in Historic Preservation from the La Landmarks Society. This award recognizes the hard work and dedication of our team and serves as a testament to our commitment to providing top-notch engineering solutions while preserving the cultural and historical significance of the buildings we work on. Design Engineering, Inc. is proud to have played a part in preserving the historical significance of this building and creating a unique and beautiful residential space for the community.
